Matte lipsticks have been all the rage the last couple of years and when I saw that my local drugstore had some new essence products, I couldn’t resist and bought a new lipstick from their Matt Matt Matte lipstick collection. Just a warning, this will be bright!
The lipstick that I have chosen is number 04 Pink Up Your Life. I was in need of a new colourful and bright lipstick since my collection is nothing else but nudes, so it was time to change that! The matt matt matt lipstick collection comes in 7 other shades and claims to be matte.
The lipstick comes in a shiny silver tube and the cap has the same colour as the lipstick. Very handy for finding the right colour in your stash! The essence logo is embossed on the lipstick, so cute. All in all the packaging looks incredibly cheerful and fun!
Pink Up Your Life is hard to describe. I can’t describe it other than a very bright fuchsia pink. It’s loud, it is bright and it is gorgeous! The lipstick as you can see from the swatch is very pigmented and opaque. It is matte but still creamy making it easy to apply without being streaky. Pink Up Your life does have a slight sheen to it, but stays matte!
The lipstick feels very comfortable to wear and doesn’t pull at my lips nor does it cling to dry patches. Let’s watch some full face pictures!
Since my skin is on the pale side of the spectrum, this lipstick is intensely bright. Almost fluorescent! However, I must tell you that it is not transfer-proof, but it will survive a drink or a small bite throughout the day! A greasy and messy meal, like pizza, however, will make your lipstick disappear (I’ve tried it, believe me), otherwise it fades beautifully.
This was Pink Up Your Life from the Matt Matt Matte lipstick collection by Essence. I hope you liked this review and I will pick up some other colours. Probably the nude ones.. haha
