Fenty Beauty Killawat Freestyle Highlighter Duo: Lightning Dust & Fire Crystal

Hello loves,
I am so late on the Fenty train, it’s such a shame. But today without further ado, here is the review.

First of all, I want to thank Emily from emilyburnsmuaย for sending me an email regarding my post ‘What to review: ask your readers’. She suggested that I should buy something of the Fenty Beauty line and more specifically, the highlighters. A few days later, the Killawat Highlighter Duo in Lightning Dust & Fire Crystal landed in my sephora.fr basket!ย DSC_1190DSC_1191

I really, really like the packaging. I don’t know what it is but the combination of colours, the graffiti, me likey! I was doubting whether I would choose the single pan ‘Metal Moon’ or the split pan ‘Lightning Dust & Fire Crystal’. I thought that Metal Moon was a bit too frosty and white to my liking. I’m a bigger fan of a slightly warmer undertone. I love the shape of the packaging. Reminds me of bees and everybody loves bees right?
In short, the packaging is edgy, sophisticated and fun at the same time.

Formula wise these are exactly what they claim to be. It’s really soft and has a velvety feel to it. These apply beautiful to the skin and blend seamlessly. My only complaint is that Fire Crystal is softer than Lightning Dust and this creates a lot more kick up when you tap your brush in the pan. Also, these highlighters contain glitter. If your not a fan of glitter then steer away from these ones.

Lightning Dust & Fire Crystal are really similar colours and the difference is hard to see since they are almost my skin tone. Which is good obviously, they are both a perfect match for my face! In the pan, they certainly look pinker than when you swatch them on your arm/hand. When swatched these look slightly more golden. Lightning Dust has the warmest undertone of the two pans and is less intense than Fire Crystal. Lightning Dust also contains less shimmer making it a more natural sheen on the cheekbones. Fire Crystal is the most intense out of the two highlighters and has a more pink hue to it. Fire Crystal definitely contains visible shimmer but I must say that once applied, it doesn’t look too bad and is still a booming ray of sunshine.

I really love the packaging, the colours and the intensity/blendability of the Killawat Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Lightning Dust and Fire Crystal. It’s pure voltage on your face. I’m just a little bit bummed about the glitter particles but I can live with that.
I bought the Fenty Beauty Killawat Highlighter Duo on Sephora.fr for โ‚ฌ33.00.
Thank you, Emily, for your amazing suggestion!
Lots of love and see you next time!
