Nabla Cosmetics Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette

If you have read my ‘Nabla Cosmetics Individual Eyeshadows’ review, then you will be aware that I love the formula of Nabla eyeshadows! Now they have released a palette: the Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette. Spoiler alert: I freaking love it.

When I first saw the Dreamy Eyeshadow palette on Instagram, my initial thought was ‘oh dear lord, another warm-toned palette’ but boy was I wrong. I promised myself that I wouldn’t buy it. I promised myself for the sake of my bank account. But you guessed it, I failed and broke my promise. I kept seeing pictures on Instagram of looks made with this palette and swatches that looked divine and I just succumbed. Exactly one day later I lost โ‚ฌ35.90 and gained a new eyeshadow palette.

The packaging is just gorgeous. First of all, you have the packaging which is wrapped around the palette. It is covered in metallic stars and constellations. You have to slide the palette out of the packaging. The palette itself is made out of hard paper and is very compact. Like super compact, making it super easy to travel with! The palette is covered in the same metallic stars and constellations in colours such as rose gold, silver and gold. In the middle, you have a golden plate with the logo of Nabla Cosmetics and the name of the palette. Last but not least you have two golden corners at the bottom of the palette. I think this gives the palette a nice touch.

Let’s check what all the hype is about and dive into the palette. Inside the palette, you get a nice and big mirror, which is a real mirror and not a plastic one. The colours are surrounded by a satin material in a sand colour.

Now, a bit of information about the palette itself. The Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette consists of twelve shades. These twelve shades have been divided into three finishes: Super Matte, Just Pearl and Fluid Metal. Fluid Metal is a new formula. So in other words: matte, pearlized and metallic finishes. There are 5 Super Mattes, 6 Fluid Metals and 1 Just Pearl.

Formula-wise, this is a high-quality palette. Nabla aimed for pigmented eyeshadows with a great colour pay off while still being blendable and holy guacamole, they did not fail. The mattes are soft to the touch, extremely pigmented, not blotchy nor patchy and very easy to use since they are so effortless to diffuse and blend. These might be the best mattes that I have come across. The metallics or ‘Fluid Metals’ are creamy, luminous and easy to use with a brush or finger. They provide your eyeballs with a glossy and foiled look depending on how you apply them. Just Pearl or the pearlized finish is a mix of pigment, pearl and reflecting micro glitters. It’s very beautiful but due to the glitter you might have some fallout and the glitters go everywhere. Of course, nothing that a glitter glue cannot prevent. My one and only con to the formula is that the darker shades tend to stick down on your eyes if you don’t set the eyes down with enough powder.

The colour scheme is probably my most favoured thing about the Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette. It’s a mix of neutrals, warm tones, cool tones, purples and pink. It’s perfect for every occasion and context. You can go for a natural look or smokey or colourful!
Now the colours and some swatches:

  • Immaculate: A Fluid Metal. White duochrome with gold reflects. (So gorgeous, if this was a highlighter for the cheekbones, it would be my go to!)
  • Illusion: A Super Matte. Light-medium neutral brown. Perfect crease colour
  • Vanitas: A Fluid Metal. A duochrome with a strawberry base and gold reflect.
  • Delirium: A Just Pearl. A purple-brown with a hint of fuschia and blue and purple micro glitter.

Immaculate and Dogma are interchangeable. You can use them with any colour within the palette.

The Nabla Cosmetics Eyeshadow palette is currently sold out (I checked almost every website) but Daniele Lorusso (mrdanielmakeup) announced on the Nabla youtube channel that it will be restocking soon, so keep an eye out on that! You can buy the Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette on Nabla’s website or on authorized retailers such as Boozyshop.

For me, this palette is my go to right now. It has everything I need colourwise and is of high quality. It blends how you want it to blend and with ease. I adore the packaging and like the fact that it’s compact! I will be posting some looks soon, the weather in Belgium is not permitting me to take good pictures. The lightning sucks and all that jazz.
What do you think of the Nabla Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette?
Lots of love and see you next time!
