Nabla Cosmetics Holiday Collection: Dreamy Liquid Lipsticks and Dazzle Liner

Hello loves,
You might think “Again? Really? Again Nabla Cosmetics?” I know, I know but I couldn’t resist when Nabla announced their Holiday Collection. Just read and discover these beauties!

Exactly at 9 AM on 23th of November, I ordered four of their Holiday Dreamy Liquid Lipsticks and one of their Dazzle Liners.ย  One day later, they arrived at my doorstep. So exciting! I bought the products on Boozyshop (which is an authorized retailer of Nabla) but you can also buy the products on the Nabla website and since recently even on BeautyBay!ย I would recommend hurrying to those websites because they sell out very fast!

Dreamy Matte Liquid Lipstick
I had never ever tried Nabla’s Dreamy Liquid Lipsticks before but after hearing good reviews from Mariah Leonard on youtube (one of the few that I trust) I decided to take the risk and I ordered four of them. I currently have Broadway, Ritual, Anarchy and Silk Road. Silk Road is the only metallic of the Holiday collection but there is also another metallic called Antimatter in their permanent line. The Liquid Lipsticks retail for โ‚ฌ14.90 each.

CSC_1728The packaging is really beautiful and slightly different from the liquid lipsticks in their permanent line. The Dreamy’s (my nickname for them) from the permanent line come in the same tube but have a different kind of finish when it comes to material. The permanent ones have a matte tube and the Nabla logo on it. This holiday collection, however, has a glossy tube and a pattern of stars and constellations printed on it. It has the same theme as the Dreamy Eyeshadow palette (review here). I love this packaging but I have some spotted some inconsistencies. Silk Road (the red metallic shade) is missing the pattern of stars and constellations. Anarchy is completely different. If I hadn’t known any better, I would think that this shade is from the permanent line. It has a matte tube and no constellations nor stars. I don’t know what went wrong during the production. The shadeย names are on the bottom of the tube and you get a doe foot applicator. This one is really sturdy, not too fluffy and makes it easy to apply the product.

The formula of these lipsticks is amazeballs. First of all, the Dreamy’s have aย sweet, caramel scent. It’s not tooย overpowering and evaporates after a few minutes. Second, they are very pigmented. A little goes a very long way so you need the tiniest amount and not one of these four colours applies streaky or patchy. They’re all very opaque and even.ย  They do need a minute or two to dry down, but once they’re completely set, they are budge, water- and smudge-proof. The matte finish is beautiful and doesn’t emphasiseย your fine lines too much. The Dreamy liquid lipsticks also feel like nothing on your lips. They are very light and weightless.ย  The biggest bonus of the Dreamy’s is their longevity. They last for such a long long long time. Even more than 8 hours (tested at work and after work). They don’t fade, they don’t crumble, they don’t crack or bleed. They stay put the entire day! The downside to this is getting them off when you want them off. They are so budge-proof that you need oil to get the Dreamy of your lips, haha. Silk Road has a metallic finish but the formula is very much the same in application, longevity and the feeling of comfort.

Dazzle Liner in Comet
Another product by Nabla that I had never tried before. Their Dazzle Liners. I fell in love when I saw the colours of their Holiday collection. The shade Comet really grabbed my attention. The packaging carries the same theme as the Dreamy’s and the Dreamy eyeshadow palette. It has the same constellations and stars on it and a beautiful matte black material. You have the ingredients on the packaging and the name on the bottom. The actual liner has a clear tube so you can see the beautiful colour through it. This liquid liner does not have a felt tip applicator like most eyeliners do. It is made of hair and is really thin. It’s also quite flexible but still allows you to make straight lines and not wobbly ones at least (in my case).ย DSC_1684DSC_1685DSC_1686

Nabla claims that this Dazzle Liner is an intensely pigmented liquid eyeliner with a glossy finish. It should glide on smoothly and have an easy and defined application. It’s supposed to be smudge-free and a long-wearing formula. I can confirmย that it is very pigmented but I do have to state that it can be a bit patchy. When creating my wings, I found that I had to go over it a few times for it to be perfectly even and without any empty spots. This is a result of a very watery formula. The Dazzle Liner is not really a gel or very thick, it’s very runny and watery. It is water based product because the first ingredient on the list is aqua = water. It does have a very beautiful finish and looks very metallic and reflective on the eyes. Like Nabla claims the Dazzle Liner does glide on smoothly and has a defined application but I wouldn’t say easy, but that is my personal experience because my eyeliner skills suck. Last but least, this has the same longevity and staying power as the Dreamy Liquid Lipstick. Comet does not budge whatsoever and is very long wearing. It also doesn’t crack like my NYX vivid eyeliners.

You can see a bit of the patchiness I spoke of before. It’s not something that really bothers me but it would be an easier job to just apply it once without any empty spots or patchiness. However, Comet is a very beautiful rose gold shade even though it looks slightly more golden in this picture, you will see the rose gold in the full face pictures down below! It’s very on trend and looks really stunning with almost every look you create. Comet gives you that extra boost that your look needs. Please don’t look at my application too much in the following pictures. I am truly not very good at applying eyeliner, especially with the eye shape that I have.

That was it for the Nabla Cosmetics Holiday Collection. They also released some Lip Kits for the first time and I have heard great things about them! My favourite Dreamy is Ritual and Anarchy is definitely a favourite as well and Silk Road is just Christmas in a bottle! What do you think of the Nabla Holiday Collection?
Lots of love and see you next time! (No Nabla for awhile now, I promise)
