Sale. A blessing and a curse at the same time. I like it because of the products being reduced in price and I hate it because of the amount of money I spend.
Today’s review is an example of what sale does to my wallet.
Ofra Cosmetics recently announced that they were rebranding and relaunching their products. As far as I know, they’ve changed their logo, e-commerce, social imagery and the packaging of their products. One of the biggest complains about the packaging of the Ofra products that a lot of youtubers/bloggers and customers had, was that it felt and looked quite cheap, especially for the price tag that you pay. The rebranding is also amazing for another reason. The products with the old packaging recently went on sale at Boozyshop.com. A sale up to -70%. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I went a bit hammered. The Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks normally retail for โฌ16,95 but I only had to pay โฌ4,95 with the -70% sale.
Packaging
Evidently, this is the old packaging. The Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks have a very standard packaging. It’s a cylindrical tube with a doe-foot applicator and a black cap. The applicator is fluffy and not too flexible. It allows very precise application of the product. The old logo is printed onto the tube but I must admit that the logo does fade after awhile. The shade name can be found on the bottom.
Formula
You might remember that I recently reviewed two other liquid lipsticks by Ofra, Charmed and Miami Fever (review here). I mentioned that the formula is my favourite among the other liquid lipsticks I own and Charmed has quickly become my favourite nude. The Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks have a creamy and whipped formula. They have a matte finish but are still emollient enough to glide onto the lips like butter. The liquid lipsticks dry down after 1-2 minutes but are never too drying. They’re extremely comfortable and pleasant to wear. They do have a vanilla scent but it’s not too strong and doesn’t linger nor bother me.
Pigmentation
I bought five of the Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks and I must say that the formula and pigmentation are pretty consistent. I have a range from lightest to darkest which are all highly pigmented and opaque. Hypno, being the darkest berry shade, does struggle a bit and needs a careful application. Aries is a peachy nude with a white base. A white base tends to make a shade patchy, chalky and dry. Aries doesn’t own any of those features. Americano is the only shade that seems to have some purple shimmer particles. However, none of the shimmer particles is visible once applied to the lips. Dubai and Dutchess are both nicely pigmented and opaque.
Swatches
Dubai – A sand stone nude
Aries – A peachy nude
Dutchess – A mauve nude with cool undertones
Americano – A dark sienna
Hypno – A mauve red
The Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks are still my favourite formula among the liquid lippies. I feel like the line is consistent in formula and pigmentation. I’m all for rebranding but I do hope that they don’t change anything about the formula though. I might buy some of their rebranded lippies and review them!
What do you think about the rebranding off Ofra Cosmetics?
Lots of love and see you next time!
