Craving And Saving #2

Hey loves,
So it hasn’t been that long since my first Saving & Craving but you know, the makeup industry is coming out with 50 collections every day and I have to catch up. Here are my recent Saving and Craving products!

SAVING

Anything by Colourpop $$$
I have to be honest for a second. I’m getting tired of Colourpop. They’re releasing something every other day, if not every day and I’m not a fan. It’s too much. A lot of their new collections feel like a money grab to me because a lot of it isn’t new. There are already existing products in the collections. You’re paying for the new packaging and I’m not down with that. Saving my money. Also, there’s nothing new and exciting and ‘wow, I have never seen this before’. I already have most shades in my collection and I need to start using those, instead of buying new things.

Melt Cosmetics Radioactive eyeshadow palette $48
Look, it’s beautiful and I love the shades. However, sometimes I just need to be cutthroat and admit that something beautiful is not always worth buying. It’s a tad too expensive and I already have a bunch of these shades in my collection. It’s beautiful but I cannot convince myself to buy it.

Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette
Uhm. I don’t know where to start. I didn’t realise Urban Decay could get any more boring. This is a boring palette. I don’t like it. I already have these shades in my collection but with more depth and saturation and less ashiness. Saving the money!

Too Faced Palm Springs Dreams $45
Boring the house. Can you imagine spending $45 on this palette? Man, Too Faced hasn’t interested me in a hot minute. These neutral shades with a pop of blue already exist in your collection and if they don’t, don’t spend $45 on this and search something similar and cheaper. You will find it. I promise.

Craving

Sugarpill Fun Size Palette $29
This is such a cute palette and I love Sugarpill eyeshadows. It’s a little steep for what you get so I’m not sure if I want this. ‘Update: it’s โ‚ฌ25,49 and not โ‚ฌ30 or something as I had thought. Will buy.’ However, there are some, if not all of them, unique shades in this palette that I don’t have in my collection. I will have to see if this comes to Beauty Bay or Boozyshop!

Sol Body Glow Oils $15
So in my last Saving or Craving, I mentioned that I was really craving the Sol Body Shimmering Dry Oil. However, when I was just on the verge of purchasing it, I saw the announcement that they were releasing the Glow Oils. No glitter, pure shimmer. I think I gravitate more towards this type of product for the body. And the price is lovely of course!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr Hydrating Foundationย
I really want to try this. It has been getting mixed reviews, some good and some bad. But the aesthetic and the claims of the foundation sound so good. I currently have three foundations that are almost empty, so I think I might purchase this one after the emptying, haha.

So that guys are some of my saving and cravings of the latest launches. Has anyone noticed how many collections are launching? I honestly can’t keep up. Especially with the holiday season coming up. I’m actually thinking about doing another saving and craving for holiday collections. What do you think?
What are some of your saving and cravings lately?
Lots of love and see you next time!

  1. I agree – the ColourPop releases have reached a breaking point for me. It is too overwhelming and too many things are being released on a weekly basis, so nothing really gets to shine… and I’ve noticed that palettes now have repeat shades in them.

The Sugarpill palette is definitely on my to-buy list (although I’m hoping to receive it as a gift later this fall), because I love the pastel color scheme and everyone has been raving about the formula!

    1. For me too. It’s just too much. I feel like they don’t put any thought into their products anymore. It’s just constantly new collections with often existing products? Totally agree with you!

I did buy the Sugarpill palette. There were quite a few shades that I found unique and I love the formula of Sugarpill’s eyeshadows!

  2. The melt radioactive eyeshadows are so beautiful (reminds me of Lucy Boyton’s watercolor eye) but since you already have it, you should save yourself the cash!
And I agree! Though the packaging is gorgeous but that palette is just boring, it doesn’t really add much to the makeup world!
I actually was considering the palm springs palette but I’ll heed your advice and look elsewhere for a cheaper option!
My gosh the sugarpill palette is GORGEOUS!
Urgh, I wished I had held off on getting the matte foundation and got the hydrating one instead especially since I love the glow! Can’t wait to see what you do end up getting!

    1. The Melt radioactive eyeshadow palette is really pretty but it would be a waste to buy, because I have similar shades. Same thing with the others.

I did end up purchasing the Sugarpill. It’s so pretty and I didn’t own quite a few shades in that palette. So I felt like it was justified. xx

  3. LOVE your savings and cravings choice! If I am honest, I actually don’t think I have ever used a Colourpop Palette. They are gorgeous and whenever you guys post them I covet it, but have never actually bought one. I also agree with you about the Naked palette. I LOVE them, and they are my go toos, but that one is such a dud. Great post sweets! โค

  4. I absolutely agree with statement on Color Pop. I can’t keep up, it’s just too much. They are just getting so annoying with so many releases. Also makeup industry is getting crazy, there is so many brands, options, cute packing, but let’s be honest we don’t need all the products. I did declutter again few days ago and I have so much makeup, I can’t believe I spent so much money on makeup that I don’t even use. I don’t think I’ll be buying a lot till the end of year, I just need a break from all the new makeup haha. xx

    1. Colourpop is the worst and I’ve been really disappointed with Anastasia Beverly Hills too. They seem to be launching collection after collection. I’m just like ‘please take a minute and think products through’. It will probably take years to pan every shade in every eyeshadow palette that I own. It’s insane. I just want to be a bit more responsible and I’m glad you think the same! xx
